How is the Pangenesis explored for Organic Evolution?

Gemules transport from the body to sex organs.

Pangenesis is an outdated and discredited theory of heredity proposed by the ancient Greek philosopher Hippocrates and later revived by the famous biologist Charles Darwin in the 19th century. However, it’s important to note that pangenesis is not considered a valid explanation for organic evolution in modern biology. This theory explains that the cells of the somatic organs (vegetative organs) except sex cells produce minute particles called “gemmules” that carry information about various traits formed. These gemmules would collect and accumulate in the reproductive organs and be passed on to the offspring, thereby determining their characteristics. This theory attempted to explain how acquired traits could be inherited, a concept known as the inheritance of acquired characteristics or Lamarckism. This Discredited Theory by modern genetics, provides a more accurate and comprehensive understanding of how traits are inherited and how evolution occurs.
